As an artist, I am interested in how art can be used as a form of communication. There are challenges and consequences of not being able to express oneself such as the lack of mastery of a language and not knowing how to simplify your ideas without losing their value and impact. Words can only say so much and if the reader is not familiar with the vocabulary, much less the language being read, what information can be gained? My inspiration comes from how symbolism is used in literature, film, media, and its interpretations within dreams, as well as the power of narratives as seen within stained glass windows, animated films, and novels. My goal with my art is to create a bridge between different worlds and show the similarities between them. I believe that with proper communication, we can begin to understand each other and grow.
